About Me

I am a 33 year old mother of one spirited 4 year old. She stays home with me, which is awesome, but I also work from home as an online teacher, which makes it difficult to split my time evenly between spending quality time my daughter and getting my work done. As if that weren't enough, I'm back in school to further my education, I operate a small crafting business on the side, and we're in the beginnings of homeschooling. To say my life is busy is an understatement.

My heaviest weight.
About 180 lbs on a 5'4 frame.
I've always struggled with weight loss my entire life. I watched my mom yo-yo diet for as long as I can remember and as a result I did the same thing. I lived on diet foods and cried many days about my weight. I am a goal setting person by nature, but for some reason weight loss and maintenance was never a goal I could maintain. When I was pregnant, I gained 50 pounds. I felt awful about myself! When my daughter was about 9 months old, I finally had enough and I worked hard to lose the rest of the baby weight. I finally got down to a size I was happy with, but after about a year, put the weight back on. My eating habits were terrible and I ended up right back to square one.

About a year ago, my husband started doing yoga every day and the weight just fell off of him. It always amazes me how fast men lose weight! I felt inspired by his dedication and decided I would do the same. I started doing yoga every night, but my weight wasn't changing and although I love practicing yoga, it wasn't really assisting in my weight loss. I felt defeated and hopeless and accepted the fact that I would never reach my weight loss/fitness goals.

All of that changed when I saw my friend post on Facebook her before and after picture of her 21 Day Challenge. I was so inspired by her results and I realized, "this is something I can do too!" My journey began and here I am working one day at a time to be healthy. I'm not focusing on weight anymore, I'm focusing on health. I want to live a healthy, active lifestyle, so that my daughter will want to live that way too and hopefully I can inspire others along the way! Staying healthy is so important and even though I'm busy, busy, busy, I recognize how important my health is and made the decision to prioritize that in order for everything else to fall in place. I know you can do it too! Here's to a healthy happy journey!
